As a professional composer, arranger, and jazz musician, Dan Geisler’s coordination of music for Sunday worship services creates a culture of excellence in music that helps us worship in a way that honors God and builds the church. Sundays include Dan’s original arrangements of contemporary songs and classic hymns and each week he conducts of a trio (to a quintet) of world-class talented musicians. Dan completed a double major in Music (Piano Emphasis) and Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado and a Masters in Studio Music and Jazz Arranging from the University of Miami. Prior to coming to City Pres in 2001 (since the beginning) Dan had been music director for two churches in Colorado, a member of the adjunct faculty (Jazz Piano) at the University of Miami, and a keyboardist/musical director with Jon Secada’s world tour. He continues to play professionally and you may catch him playing with or leading  jazz groups in various music venues throughout Denver. He also continues to do arrangement and composing work for major record label artists and music publication companies. As a church in the center of Denver, City Pres has a good number of new young families. Our Nursery Coordinator assures that the youngest of church are cared for by providing a safe and clean environment within the Tivoli and coordinates our team of professional childcare workers.  Originally from a small town in East Texas, Jen Hanson completed her degree in Human Development and Early Childhood Education from Texas Tech University and then taught for over six years in Texas schools.  A move to Denver for another teaching assignment and new adventures proved a bigger change than expected when she met Darren and his son Christian. They became an instant family and gained another family when they became members of City Pres. Their family continued to grow with the birth of their daughter, Addie. The Hanson’s spend as much time as they can outdoors whether it’s camping, hiking, and fishing, or working in the yard of their Clayton neighborhood home.
