Summer Conversations  (All conversations are from 6-8)

Aug. 8th                                    Soothing Your Lizard Brain

Work in Today’s World by Dan Larson

As many of you have experienced, the working world has changed around us in the last decade.  Professional jobs in the last century were founded on a model borrowed from the Industrial Revolution making companies much like factories, and office professionals workers on the assembly line.  Factors like globalization, extreme cost reductions for production, and technology advances have put the means of production into the hands of the worker.  Job security is no longer given to those with a pulse, but must now be earned by becoming indispensable.  Come and learn how most jobs today require us to be artistic, unique and courageous.  Come and discuss our common Lizard Brain, what it means for us and what we can do about it.  This talk is founded on many of the concepts taught by Seth Godin and his recent book “Linchpin.”

Location: 1557 Mead St. (80204) Home of Dan, B.J., Finn, Ione, and Lael Larson
